A community choir with over 20 members, the Harlequins are women and men who live in Hamilton and surrounding areas. Members are of all ages and backgrounds, and work in many different fields.
Michael Barber is a Toronto-based musical director, pianist, arranger and conductor.
Michael has recently completed his 3rd season at the Stratford Festival where he was Musical Director and conductor for 42nd Street starring Cynthia Dale, and Associate Conductor on Pirates of Penzance. Other Stratford credits include Associate MD on Camelot starring Geraint Wyn Davies, and work on Jacques Brel… featuring Brent Carver. Elsewhere he has been Music Director for over 50 professional musicals across Canada, including Forever Plaid, The Rocky Horror Show, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, A Christmas Carol (Aquarius); White Christmas (Neptune); Oliver!, Peter Pan (Drayton); California Dreaming II (Stage West Calgary); Singin’ in the Rain, Anne of Green Gables, Lucky Stiff, Once on This Island (Stirling, Ontario). He was keyboardist for Spamalot and MartinShort: Fame Becomes Me (Mirvish).
Michael studied jazz piano at Humber College, and classical piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has also studied piano, conducting and orchestration privately in Chicago, New York and Toronto.
Michael is highly regarded as a vocal coach to many of Toronto’s leading musical theatre artists. He has two CDs out with cabaret artist (and wife) Nathalie Nadon.
This coming season Michael will return to Theatre Aquarius to Musical Direct Mary Poppins.

Laura Pin – Accompanist
Laura has worked extensively as a collaborative pianist playing with many talented soloists and choirs including Maureen Forrester, Kevin McMillan, the Amabile Youth Singers, Faculty of Music Singers (U.W.O.), Vox Nouveau, and Kokoro. As a choral accompanist she has toured in Europe, the United States, and across Canada. Laura has completed music studies at the Banff School of Fine Arts and The University of Western Ontario where she studied with Arthur Rowe and was awarded the Alumni Gold Medal. She also holds an Associate of Music in piano performance from the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. Laura’s collaborative performances and recordings have often received glowing reviews:

Currently Laura plays with the Harlequin Singers, the Ambassadors Christian Male Chorus, the Pro Musica Choir, and the Hamilton Children’s Choir Illumini Ensemble. She maintains a successful music studio and is in high demand as a teacher, vocal coach, and accompanist.
