Thank you for expressing an interest in auditioning for the Harlequin Singers!
In order to get a taste of what singing with the Harlequin Singers will be like, we invite you to join us for two or three rehearsals before a formal audition takes place.
Our weekly rehearsals are from 7 pm until 9:30 pm. We currently practice at St. Luke’s Anglican Church located in Burlington. Rehearsals are a key component to ensuring you feel confident when it comes time to perform in our concerts!
—————————————————–
Formal auditions occur twice a year: the last week of January and September.
Please note that auditions for the 2024-2025 season are currently closed. Please check back in August for information regarding our September auditions.
The audition takes approximately 10 minutes and is a three-part process:
1. Warm-up and range check
2. Sing a song from a musical of your choice, or you may sing your part from one of the songs we are currently working on. Our accompanist, Laura Pin will be on hand should you wish to have piano accompaniment. You may also accompany yourself or sing a cappella
3. Sight singing segment
We want you to be comfortable during the audition because we all want the same thing… to hear you at your best!
Questions? Please feel free to connect with either our Music Director at director@harlequinsingers.com, or our President at president@harlequinsingers.com
In the days following your audition, you will be contacted by a member of the Board to inform you whether or not you have had a successful audition. If successful, you may be offered a position. We may have many auditioning and unfortunately a limited number of spots available.
All the best!
